FROM THESE ASHES began creating their versatile mixture of aggressive, melodic drenched sound in July 2003, packing each newly created gem with monster hooks & riffs, numbing low end, precision drumming and memorable vocals. Not content with their past musical directions, the members brought together years worth of experience writing, touring & recording in the common goal of crafting hard edged music that would connect with the public on a primitive and streetwise, yet personal & intellectual level. Drawing influence from the past four decades worth of various types of music, the band's material showcases strong musicianship and technical songwriting, entertaining concert attendees and club patrons hungry for something fresh and original.
The band's tireless work ethic is highly admirable. To date they have recorded and released 3 CD's in less than 3 years. Within 6 weeks of forming, the band had recorded their 6 song debut "Severed Wings". They then hit the road in support of the CD, playing wherever, whenever and with whomever they could. FTA lost original bassist Pat Chambers in October 2004, and remarkably were in the studio with new bassist Ben Shutter and second guitarist Vinnie Calvario recording the follow up "Depending On A False Tomorrow" in January 2005. Keeping up their churning pace, "Scarred For Life" (the band's 3rd CD) was released in April 2006. April 2006 also saw the departure of longtime bassist Ben Shutter and the addition of local scene veteran Josh Potter.
FROM THESE ASHES have been entertaining the live music seeking public since September 2003. They have a fast growing catalog of material which affords them the opportunity to keep their set lists fresh for audiences. The band has been fortunate enough to have shared the stage with many great bands, including major label artists such as HavocHate (former Slayer & Testament members), Bleed The Sky (Nuclear Blast Records), Silent Civilian (former Spineshank members), Five Bolt Main (former Flaw & Darwin's Waiting Room members), The Autumn Offering (Victory Records), Brand New Sin (Century Media Records), Dog Fashion Disco & Eyes Of Fire. In addition to the great response FTA's albums have been gaining live and online at such websites as MySpace, SoundClick, and PureVolume, their CD's have also been enjoying airplay on Elmira NY's WNGZ 104.9, Ithaca NY's WVBR 93.5, Geneva NY's 89.7 FM, and Limestone NY's WKEG 104.7.
Now Touring in support of their third release "Scarred For Life", the band is gaining new fans, friends and the support & respect of fellow musicians wherever they go. From These Ashes stand firmly poised, ready to take things to the next level. This is a darker, heavier, mature & more technical, yet at the same time surprisingly accessible band.
